Kids Carpentry Workshop – Dog Car Toy (1 Session)

This dog car toy is an instant favorite—kids love the character details and the satisfying moment it rolls smoothly for the first time. It’s playful, sturdy, and proudly handmade.

This is a premium, fundamentals-building workshop using hand tools only. Kids work with solid wood in small groups (max 6) with instructor-led, step-by-step guidance, building confidence through accurate marking, clean drilling, careful hand-fitting, and a furniture-smooth finish. The focus is on safe habits, real craftsmanship, and a toy they’ll actually want to use.

What You’ll Learn

• Measuring and marking: outlines, centerlines, and wheel placement
• Hand-sawing and shaping: refining the dog profile and smoothing transitions (no machines)
• Hand drilling: straight wheel/axle holes with controlled technique (no machines)
• Hand-fitting: wheel alignment for easy rolling and balanced stance
• Assembly: glue control, tidy joins, and clean detail placement (like the ear)
• Finishing: progressive sanding and a kid-safe finishing process

What’s Included

• Solid wood parts/blanks for the dog car body and detail pieces
• Wooden wheels and dowels/pins for axles (as required for the design)
• All consumables: wood glue, sandpaper, marking materials, kid-safe finishing product
• Hand tools provided during the workshop (measuring, marking, hand-sawing, hand drilling, shaping, sanding)
• Safety gear provided and required: protective eyewear (and additional protection as needed)
• A completed dog car toy to take home

• All courses are non-refundable.
• One free reschedule is permitted if requested more than 24 hours before the scheduled class.
• Any additional changes, or changes requested within 24 hours of the class, are subject to a rebooking fee of AED 150.
• Missed classes or no-shows are not eligible for refunds or rescheduling.
