INTRODUCTION

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to every visitor to, or purchaser from, the The Makers Society online store at shop.makingdubai.com. By using the site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

PRODUCT INFORMATION

We endeavour to keep all descriptions, images and prices accurate. Because many items are handmade and wood is a natural material, minor variations in colour, grain or finish may occur. We may change or discontinue products at any time without notice.

PRICING AND VAT

All prices are stated in United Arab Emirates dirhams (AED) and currently include any applicable taxes. When our VAT registration is complete, invoices will show our Tax Registration Number (TRN) and a VAT breakdown.

ORDER ACCEPTANCE AND PAYMENT

Orders are accepted subject to stock availability and payment authorisation. You will receive an email confirmation once your order is accepted. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, for example because an item is out of stock or a price was listed in error.

TMS STORE CREDIT CASHBACK PROGRAMME

The Makers Society may offer store credit cashback on qualifying purchases made through the TMS website.

Eligible orders earn 5% of the order subtotal back as store credit, excluding shipping, taxes and any additional charges. Cashback is only available on qualifying orders with a minimum order value of AED 200.

Store credit is issued to the customer’s Rise wallet after the order is fulfilled and can be used toward future purchases on the TMS website.

Cashback is capped at AED 300 per order. Qualifying orders below AED 6,000 earn the full 5% cashback amount. Orders above AED 6,000 are capped at AED 300.

The following purchases may qualify for automatic cashback:

- Individual classes and workshops
- Consumables and materials
- Resident Programme memberships
- Standard website orders of AED 200 or more

Some purchases may be eligible for manual store credit issuance, subject to confirmation by The Makers Society team. This includes full-price Modular Pathway enrolments, which may receive AED 300 store credit.

Cashback is not issued on:

- Orders below AED 200
- Modular Pathway enrolments purchased using a graduate discount code
- Resident Programme enrolments where a graduate discount has been applied by staff
- Orders where a staff-applied discount or special promotional arrangement has been used, unless clearly stated otherwise

Cashback cannot be combined with other promotional offers, discounts or staff-applied arrangements unless explicitly confirmed by The Makers Society.

Store credit expires 90 days from the date it is issued. Each credit issuance has its own expiry date. If a customer earns store credit from multiple purchases, each credit amount follows its own 90-day validity period. Expired credit is forfeited and cannot be reinstated.

Store credit can be applied at checkout on the TMS website. Customers may choose to use all or part of their available balance.

Store credit cannot be exchanged for cash, refunded, transferred to another customer or account, or applied retroactively to a completed order.

The Makers Society reserves the right to modify, pause or discontinue the cashback programme at any time. Where possible, reasonable notice will be provided.

Store credit is managed through Rise.ai and may also be subject to Rise.ai’s own terms and conditions.

SHIPPING

We ship only within the United Arab Emirates using our logistics partner Quiqup. Orders of AED 500 and above are delivered free of charge; orders below AED 500 incur the delivery fee displayed at checkout. Estimated delivery is two to five working days from dispatch. Shipping occurs only during The Makers Society opening times. Full operational details are provided in our separate Shipping & Returns Policy.

RETURNS AND REFUNDS

Physical products, including hand tools, accessories and unopened consumables, may be returned within 7 days of delivery if unused, in their original packaging and accompanied by proof of purchase. Refunds are issued either to the original payment method or as store credit, at the customer’s choice.

Digital woodworking plans are non-refundable. Custom-made or personalised items cannot be cancelled or returned once production has begun. The step-by-step returns procedure is set out in the Shipping & Returns Policy.

DIGITAL PRODUCTS – LICENSE OF USE

Digital woodworking plans are licensed for personal, non-commercial use only. Redistribution, resale, or commercial manufacture based on these plans without our written permission is prohibited.

CUSTOM-MADE PRODUCTS

Custom or personalised items are made to the customer’s specifications. Once an order is confirmed and production has started it cannot be modified or cancelled. In the rare event of defect or error on our part we will repair, replace or refund as appropriate.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Woodworking involves sharp tools, heavy machinery and inherent risk. By purchasing products or plans from The Makers Society you accept full responsibility for safe and correct use. The Makers Society will not be liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from misuse, improper technique or failure to follow appropriate safety guidance. We strongly recommend proper training before using any woodworking equipment.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All text, images, logos and digital plans on this site are the property of The Makers Society and are protected by UAE and international intellectual-property laws. No content may be copied or used without prior written consent.

GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising from use of the site or purchases made through it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may revise these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
