This wooden train is a next-level build—kids love creating a full set with multiple cars, then linking them up and testing how smoothly it rolls. It’s satisfying because it combines real toy function with clean, furniture-style craftsmanship.

This is a premium, fundamentals-building workshop using hand tools only. Students work with solid wood (light-grain softwood) in small groups (max 6) with instructor-led, step-by-step guidance, developing confidence through accurate layout, careful drilling, and hand-fitting for movement. Across two sessions, they build strong habits in safety, precision, and finishing—then take home a train set they can proudly play with.

What You’ll Learn

  • Measuring and marking: reference edges, repeated measurements, and symmetry across multiple cars
  • Hand-sawing: cutting and refining small parts safely for clean edges (no machines)
  • Hand drilling: axle/wheel holes, window holes, and clean spacing (no machines)
  • Shaping: rounding corners and refining profiles for a polished toy feel
  • Hand-fitting: testing wheel spin, adjusting friction, and improving roll quality
  • Assembly: glue control, alignment checks, and fitting couplers so cars connect neatly
  • Finishing: progressive sanding and a kid-safe finish for smooth, durable results

  • One free reschedule is permitted if requested more than 24 hours before the scheduled class.
  • Any additional changes, or changes requested within 24 hours of the class, are subject to a rebooking fee of AED 150.
