Unlocking, completion windows, and payments

Unlock gates

Modules unlock in blocks (e.g., 1–2, then 3–4) once the relevant payment stage is completed. You can view schedules anytime — booking access follows your payment stage.

Completion windows (recommended)

To keep momentum and instructor continuity, we recommend completing: Foundations within 4 months and Mastery within 6 months. (If you need flexibility, message us — we can advise based on availability.)

Payment requirement

Payment must be completed before the scheduled session start time. If unpaid by start time, The Makers Society may cancel the booking and release the seat.

FAQs

Clear answers before you commit.

Which option should I start with?
If you’re new to woodworking or want structure, start with Foundations (Modules 1–4). If you’ve completed Foundations (or can demonstrate competence), choose Mastery (Modules 5–7). If you want the best value and fastest progression, choose the Full Pathway (Modules 1–7).
Can I pay in installments?
Yes. Most learners start with a Tabby deposit (subject to approval) and continue via staged payments. Payments unlock the next module block according to the plan shown above.
What happens if I stop halfway?
Your progress remains on record, and you can continue within the recommended completion window. If you need a pause, message us — we’ll advise the cleanest way to resume without losing momentum.
Do I need my own tools?
No. Workshop tools and machines are provided. A small personal kit can help with consistency (we can publish a recommended list).
Is this a professional qualification?
This is a skills-based pathway designed for real capability: competency sign-offs, guided outcomes, and a clear learning record. It’s ideal for serious hobbyists and committed beginners building toward independent making.
What’s the time commitment?
It depends on how quickly you book modules and use mentored workshop hours. If you want a recommended cadence based on your schedule, message us on WhatsApp.
Can I upgrade from Foundations to the Full Pathway?
Yes. We can apply a defined amount of your Foundations payment toward the Full Pathway within an upgrade window after Module 4. Ask us on WhatsApp and we’ll confirm the current rule.
