Program approach
The Kids Woodworking Academy is a structured, skills-based program for children aged 10–15. This is real making—using real timber and real techniques in a professional woodworking environment, with safety-first supervision.
Personal tool kit requirement (mandatory)
To support consistent learning, correct technique, and safe habits, every student is required to use their own hand tools during the course.
Each child must purchase a starter tool set consisting of:
- 1 Wooden Hand Plane
- 1 Japanese Hand Saw
Cost: AED 279
Supplier: The Makers Society
Ownership: The tools belong to the student and will be used throughout the program and beyond.
What’s included
- Tutor instruction and close supervision
- Workshop tool access and safety equipment during sessions
- Wood, hardware, and standard finishing materials for in-class projects (as specified in the term)
Schedule & location
Sessions will be published asap. They will take place at The Makers Society in Dubai, in a safe, supervised, purpose-built woodworking studio.
Cancellation & refunds
- General policy: Programs are non-refundable.
- Missed sessions / no-shows: If a student fails to attend without prior notice, no refund or reschedule will be offered.
Minimum age
Minimum age for the Academy is 10.
